SESSION DETAILS

.NET development for the Web has been revolutionised by both ASP.NET MVC and the use of IoC containers like Autofac, Castle Windsor, and P&P Unity. The latest release of ASP.NET MVC brings these technologies together in a powerful combination for clean application architecture.

This is a full-day presentation designed to teach IoC from the ground up, using ASP.NET MVC3 to build and demonstrate a running example. After attending this session, developers will be confident in applying Inversion of Control techniques in Web and non-Web applications. Attendees will also understand the practical integration of an IoC container into ASP.NET MVC3 programming.

NB: This workshop is not a comprehensive introduction to ASP.NET MVC. Some familiarity with the basics of ASP.NET MVC (any version) will help you to get the most out of this session.

Nicholas is a specialist in .NET application development, inversion of control (IoC) and component-oriented techniques. He has worked for Microsoft’s Developer Division on the .NET team, as well as many national and international companies in a range of software engineering roles. Through his experience in .NET application development, Nicholas initiated several well-known open source .NET projects including Autofac, a popular IoC container; the Sprache C# DSL framework; and Stateless, a lightweight state machine library.
